It all depends on the firm. In Japan I've dealt with three shady firms, an OK one, and two firms that are good - one is a Japanese company that specializes in marketing and sales people, the other was Robert Walters, which was by far the best. They also has jobs that may appeal to an MBA - they tend to specialize in things like finance and other things here in Japan, but once in a while a decent marketing opporunity crops up. My advice is to research the firm, find out about a firm that specializes in your chosen field. Find out if how much commission they make, if they are on it, as that impacts the jobs they recommend to you.
