But why wouldn't he? Seriously shows how flawed this sort of system is IMO. Games can end one way in the regular season, but not the same way in the playoffs. Its ridiculous. (Not exonerating McNabb from knowing to begin with at all but as he said, he has never played in a tie game starting in Pop Warner)
I heard this suggested last week as a way to play OT (as the current system sucks, coin flip winner wins almost 75% of the games).
Team A starts at the 25 yd line, then Team B....you can make 1st downs, but you cannot kick field goals, you must score a TD or turn it over. First team to score a TD with an equal amount of opportunities wins. Wouldn't likely take as long as playing 15 minutes of tied football as the current system dictates, you would have a winner every game, and it wouldnt be a goofy one on one thing like hockey.
Its the same thing Selig got raked over the coals for during that All-Star game fiasco...and rightfully so. This is one area Goodell will have completely changed by the start of next season....along with an extra 2 regular season games and 2 less exhibition games.

Ref's blew the call, TD should've counted.

Agreed...I have no idea why they would of thought a fumbled lateral should be any different than a fumbled run or catch or hand off or snap.
Pure stupidity and that ref WILL be disciplined as it made the bookies in Vegas profit to the tune of 65 MILLION dollars. I have no doubt that there was nothing untowards going on with the referee in question, but the optics are brutal for a league trying to change their perception about gambling and off-field issues.
