Isn't New Brighton right beside the landfill?
Now, more than ever, is a good time to shop hard and play various builders off against each other. I have heard of people getting some "crazy" deals out there from builders, like $670K for a nicely finished 2100 sqft'er in Garrison Green, or $510K for 2400 sqft in Evergreen. It'd be better, I think, to go for a spec home or something with a quick turnaround time, though.
