Because I couldnt give a rats a$$ about any US state I will give my opinon on what Alberta should do close this issue once and for all.

Stop issuing marriage licenses, instead issue civil union licenses - dont force anyone to grant such licenses if they dont want to.

Once the government started giving tax breaks to couples, they allowed this issue to take over. No matter what I think of a same sex union, they have every right to the same partner tax benefit as a man/woman union.

That would solve it for the most parties, same sex couples get the tax breaks, crazy baptits cant say the goverment is issuing marriage licenses. Also, can anyone else not see the complete hypocracy in people seeing a governmental licenses as some form of religious badge of honour - just change the name of the license, that would solve the case for all.
