A FBI agent (Val Kilmer) with native heritage (of which he is not particularly proud) is sent to a native reservation in South Dakota to help with a murder investigation.
It's a great story, well acted and realistic. The best part, though, is watching Kilmer's character transform. I don't want to give too much away as I am guessing not everyone has seen this movie. It is based on actual events and filmed on location in the Black Hills.
The movie also stars Sam Shepard and Graham Greene and contains one of the best ass kicking scenes in cinema history IMO. I think anyone who has an admiration and respect for native culture will enjoy this movie a lot.
