Perhaps. I hadn't though about that part. You may want to put a limit on the number of a certain category, say no more than 3 of something.
Personally I would hope to get a few ideas of some good examples of these genres to give them another try. There are a few categories I've tried a book or two and haven't like them. But I don't know if that is the genre, boor or author that didn't appeal to me. I couldn't in good conscience recommend a book in those categories. But I would like to try again with a good recommendation.
Another thought.
What if, after the draft is done, instead of voting on a winner, allow each person to give out a few "ooh that is a good one" ("props") to different books. Maybe allow one per category you make a pick in. That way people who don't know about a category would have an idea that Book X is liked by many people. Not that there would be any "bad" pick, but if I know nothing about Graphic Novels, I could have a list of 10-20 to pic from. If I knew that the people in the draft gave more props to one than another then that would be a good first choice. I know from the TV Show draft that there are categories I'm not going to get my first choice in because they were already selected.
