Ok, listen, i agree with you about the "roots" of Rock....Keith Richards made a good little living borrowing from blues......But is she rock, your own qoute talks about "soul" music...just because rock grew out of blues et al. does not mean that blues et al. musician are by extension rock musicians.

One guy that did bridge the "gap" gap was Ottis Redding.
