What are the chances of a high first round QB becoming an everyday starter in the NFL? 50/50? Knowing the Chiefs luck the QB that they pick will be a bust. Especially if Carl is calling the shots.

I would rather the Chiefs look at bringing in a guy like Derek Anderson than draft a QB. Really I think you need to see how Thigpen plays for the rest of the year and determine if he is a guy who can be a QB. There is no doubt that he's showing progress as he gets to work with the offence more and more. Hell even Croyle didn't play that badly....just couldn't last more than a quarter between getting killed. Although the Chiefs line is starting to come together and somewhat protect the QB the last few weeks.
Really another solid lineman, a power RB to replace LJ, and a successor for Tony Gonzalez and they might start to have the pieces for the offence they'll need to run with the Bronco's and Chargers. Than they'll just have to figure out how to fix the defence.
