Please understand that I'm not trying to be a hockey-nazi when I post this. This is my opinion, and I hope you take it for what it's worth.

I considered trying to join this team, purchase the jerseys, socks, etc. I would love to be on an 'organized' team again, rather than the usual Saturday pickup game, which I haven't been able to do since my son was born in January... Some things are more important.

Having said that, if I had the financial means to afford the icetime, and the uniforms, the last thing I would want to do is waste that time getting drunk ahead of the game. I would be paying that money to play on a compeditive team, but above all else, to have fun.

Now, if that's the team's idea of having fun, fair enough. If I paid that much money to sit on the other bench watching people make asses of themselves, I would have laughed to start, but if a game is called, and I'm basically paying for ice time for people to ruin the experience for me, I'm not happy.

The tone, being a text based information area, in this thread makes it sound very ho hum. There's a lot of jokes here, which I can understand on a board who's motto is "Hookers and blow". But when it comes to wasted money, abuse of officials, suspensions, etc, I would hope that a team that technically represents the board takes what happend, and the penalities seriously.

I enjoy a drink after a game, and might have had one or two when playing other sports, so I can't fault you for drinking. But as Jiri said, you're putting more than just yourself in danger when you get on the ice drunk.

I'm somewhat disapointed in reading this thread, the event, and how it's being handled. Hall of fame worthy? Really? I'm shaking my head.

I hope you guys enjoy the rest of the season. I hope you understand that you're in a position that I cannot be, and when I hear you're dinking around with it, it pisses me off. But, you don't owe me anything. You don't know me, and who cares what I have to say...

I just hope you understand that your teams actions don't sit well with everyone, and I hope that you take this a little more seriously than you have.

Now, can someone help me off my soap box?
