Of course they need to be balanced. Winter tires should be treated just like any other tire.

For anyone that has done tons of research... I'm debating which winter tires to buy also.

I have Blizzaks (I think they are LM-25's, H speed rated for 130mph) for my Grand Am GT and totally have loved them. I was going to simply buy Blizzaks for my Subaru GT, but there has been so much positive talk in this thread about the performance Nokians that I am wondering if I should choose them instead. Another option is the Dunlop SP Wintersport 3; they are an even better V speed rated. A performance winter tire is a must (the Blizzaks are barely performance enough).

Why should I choose Nokians over the Blizzaks?
