I don't have a problem with this. It's sad, but it happens. Can't change the law because one stupid parent didn't think his kid couldn't handle it.

Is the father responsible legally? Maybe not, but he is morally responsible. Mother is rightly pissed off and devastated, but when I was a kid I knew better than to shoot a gun. Even at age 8. Stupid parents make stupid kids, and you can legislate who gets to procreate.

This should count as a Darwin award, because although the father isn't technically removing himself from the gene pool, he is removing his broodlings.

I've been to a shooting club before... not a place I would take a kid.
