Not a bad show overall. I'd say a little too much Mad Men (I've never seen, so the A-hole sketch, while funny, slightly wen't over my head with the characters), but the vibe was on all night.
Congrats to Amy Poehler, giving birth to Archie Arnett, and kudoes to Seth Meyers for not only the first line of Weekend Update, which was awesome if you didn't know the news already, and for carrying a somewhat loaded Weekend Update. Seemed like they added too many guests into WU, to lighten the load.
And the return, for now, of Mya Rudolph. Good to see her back, too bad we don't see her in anything else.
Nothing made me cry, but some great skits... much better than last week.
I must say, I like the Thursday format of WU, having that mid-ish week is great, and I thought having Coldplay do 'Yellow' at the end was nice. Might be a good format to try, the current hit, the next single, and a classic. Then again, if they bring on bands like Vampire Weekend (which was OK, but not quite my cup-o-tea, not that Coldplay is either), you'd probably be pressed to get three songs out of them...
I'm happy this Sunday.
