Pain... lots of pain.

j/k
Honestly, for me it wasn't too bad. Although I can't believe you're here on CP!! Man, I slept soundly, and for a nice long while after I got home! (Thanks to the nice effects of the anaesthetic, and lovely painkillers, lol)

Best advice to you: ice. And lots of it. It helps numb the pain, keeps the swelling down, and helps prevent any bruising. I'd say that's the most important thing. But I'm sure they've already told you that.

My mouth was really quite sensitive for a while... hot and cold liquids were a no-no for me at first. But that stage passed rather quickly. Have someone go out and get you some shakes from Peter's (But don't use the straw! Use a spoon). I didn't go back to eating solids for quite a while though.

Cleanse often and well. Swelling and bruising vary from one individual to the next, so hopefully it won't be too bad for you.

I'm really trying to think back to how it was... but nothing really sticks out. The first day or two were a little rough, but pretty much nothing noteworthy. Nothing to worry about. Feeling the gaping holes at the back of your mouth is a little (or a lot) strange, but once your mouth starts becoming less sensitive, you just get used to it.
