Sometimes I'm astounded how often these topics come up on CP. Then I remember this is a sports forum and I think about the typical reader. At that point it all makes total sense.
I say eat it. It probably won't do any harm. Besides, people baby their immune systems way too much already. You've gotta give it something to do.
