I know they would probably never get to that since they would not want to sour the relationship between Brady and the organization. Still the Patriots are getting screwed in this deal.
I think for Joe Blow player that is what would happen but for a guy like Tom Brady then he is pretty much free to do what he wants because he is one of the few players in the league that actually has some power over the club.

It isn't like he decided to go to some hack down in Mexico, he went to a legitimate doctor to get the surgery done.

I think anything the Patriots would try in terms of getting salary or even bitching about the incident will only sour the relationship with one of the top players in the game and not help him recover one iota.

At this point if I were them I would use it in the future to illustrate why they want guys to go with their doctors and let it go there. It doesn't appear that Brady or the doctors did anything reckless or negligent so getting upset at this point from the Pats point of view would just be pointless.

But considering how much of control freaks NFL coaches are, and the top control freak/jerk is in NE, I wouldn't be surprised that the Pats feel the need to take it further than that.
