Yeah, Pioneer plasma is generally considered the best of the best. And, you pay for that best of the best, no mistake about that. The 60" Pioneer Elite is somewhere around $6500 US.

Panasonic plasma is generally considered a great value. I have the 65" TH-65PZ750U, from last year, and really like it. The TH-65PZ850U that replaced it this year is even better; it has better black levels and 24p processing, and will cost you about $5800 US. The 58" TH-58PZ850U is another option, at about $3500 US.

You can also go for the "professional" Panasonic displays, the TH-58PF11UK and the TH-65PF11UK for about the same money. If they had been the same price as my consumer 65" last year, I would have preferred them. They come without speakers, seperate plug in input cards, and generally more versatility than the consumer models. That would come in especially useful for PC hookup.
