I like the Star Wars Prequils. But if I buy into a story it doesn't matter how bad the acting or writing are. I like a good story, when someone tells me a story I generally enjoy it. When I watch a story in movie form I want a good story, I don't want a Freddy Prince "Down to You" it was annoying and watching that in theatres I found myself staring at the ceiling fan.

The Star Wars prequils give me information and detail about a story I love, for that reason I love them. It's like your grandfather telling you a great story, then having someone else fill in what happened first. It might not be as good, but you appreicate it nonetheless, atleast I do. I'll still be captivated as I'm interested in the story. I don't look at a trilogy and say "ok now entertain me in new ways" for every movie, I look at it and say "I like the first story, add to it please" and it has to be done HORRIBLY for me to not enjoy it. Star Wars prequils gives a ton of information about the Republic, Yoda, Windou, Obie-Wan, etc that it's worth watching. Was Jar-Jar annoying? Yes, but he wasn't the whole movie, he was merely there to get you from point A to point B in the story, he wasn't the story itself.
