GAME 16: BOMBERS vs STAMPS
Great win for the Stamps last game against the Riders. Team defense played well against Bishop and Durant. Offense did well scoring all those points. Special teams also did well. Coaches called a good game. Now, we are tied for first place with BC Lions with one game on hand. Calgary have a hold of their own destiny. They can get the first place and get a bye week in the playoff if they take care of their own game. It is going to be a heck of a regular season finish in the next 2 weeks after today's game. Calgary is playing Hamilton and BC after this game.
Blue Bombers like the Stamps have been hot of lately. They are holding the 2nd spot in the East and are bound to be in the playoffs. They too have to win their last few games or hope for Toronto to lose some games.
OFFENSE: Offense still have a bit of a problem capitalizing on the red zone but they better last game. Burris are now showing his other skills by running the ball and not force a throw. Joffrey Reynolds were used more compare to the game to the first game. He is currently leading the CFL in rushing. Nik Lewis already tied Allen Pitts' franchise record of 85 straight games with at least one catch and it's possible that he might break Pitts' record and break 1,000 yards as well in this game. Lewis needs 98 yards. He will be the first Calgary receiver ever that gained 1,000 yards in five consecutive season. Kind of surprise about this because I though Pitts did it before but I guess he didn't. Ken Yon-Rambo is leading the CFL in receiving yards and seeking to be the first Stampeder in nine season to lead the league in that department. Last time Stampeder receiver did it was Allen Pitts in 1999. Rambo showed his talent to break away from defender against the Riders last game. The rest of the receiving corps are Copeland, Thelwell, Ralph, Teyo Johnson(doubtful), and Jabari Arthur. Backing up Reynolds are Summers, Cote and Cornish.
OFFENSIVE LINE: The Stampeders OLine have been consistent lately. The rookies are getting better as season goes which is a good sign. The veterans like Lazeo and Pilon are having a blast playing with the young guys. They will played against Gavin Walls, Kai Ellis, Doug Brown and Jerome Haywood. The rest of OLines are Derek Armstrong, and Fabio Filice.
DEFENSIVE LINEMEN: The DLines did a great job along with the LB in pressuring Bishop and Durant last game. They will have to do the same against Kevin Glenn. Mike Labinjo and Wes Lysack should be back today but during their absences Justin Phillips and Robede(Dline), Milton Collins, Raymond and Howell did an excellent job filling in. Charleston Hughes is becoming to be my favorite Dline because of his speed and grit. The guy is becoming to be a QB nightmare. Eddie Freeman, Labinjo and Hodges will take the other DLine starting spot. The rest of the Dlines are Juwan Simpson, Justin Phillips, Miguel Robede, and Randy Chevrier.
LINEBACKERS: Starter Rasheed, Armour and Shannon James should have another good game again against Joe Smith, Fred Reid and Kevin Glenn. The rest of the LBs are Carpenter, Calixte and Ternovatsky.
SECONDARY: Lenny Walls were picked on by Bishop last game but it sure backfired. Walls is a rookie in the CFL but he played in the NFL. He is big at 6'4" and he is quick as Browner. The twin towers usually plays on the same side. Lysack is back at his safety position while Smith and Anderson takes the other spot. The rest of the secondaries are Milton Collins, Calvin Bannister, Keon Raymond and Markus Howell.
SPECIAL TEAM: Special teams are getting better and better as the season progresses.
For the Stamps to win, the offense need to mix up the plays. They need to confused the Bombers defense and really use their receivers at their advantages. We have a lot of depth on the receivers. If they can do what they did against the last game vs Riders, the Stamps will be in good shape.
We are going to see a lot Browner vs Edwards again and maybe Walls will get picked on again by Glenn. The defense should keep on pressuring Glenn
GO STAMPS GO!!
