Yes, it seems that Calgary Police seem to have no sense of humour when it comes to little friendly game of "got your gun- keep away!"

The person did grab the officer right at the gun holster. The officer had two choices, take the risk that the person did not indeed get the gun, and take the time to take inventory and assess the situation. Or option 2 was to put the guy down immediately.

Given how dangerous a gun in the hands of a drunk rowdy fan in a crowd would be, I say he made the right call.

And also having been in a position where I was called upon to reason with a police officer who had a friend in handcuffs with the officer having his weapon drawn, I can say that I have found the police to be reasonable if the situation is approached correctly.
