I was also a little surprised when I went into the Left 4 Dead forums (My mistake, when will I learn?) to find that there are about ten million threads on how expensive the game is going to be (PC version is $44.99 if you pre-purchase) given that it is a multiplayer only game. I personally don't mind paying standard game price if the game is good so I find the whole "It's multiplayer only, why should I pay full price" comment to be a bit frustrating. What do you guys think?
I view it the same way as purchasing Battlefield2, there's so much content in there, and the dumb helper AI should be good enough that the AI players won't break the realism too much. 4 Campaigns consisting of 5 maps with friends dropping in/out should be pretty good. Then there's the weapon selection, and if they did anything new with the gibbage of the ghoulies/infected. There will probably be maps generated anyways for this, so as a PC buy it's pretty good, even for a AA or A class priced title. (probably will take 5-7 run threw's before the maps get old, or you've learned most of the patterns that the AI will throw at you so that means at least 15-25 hours of play time)

As an example with COD4, I found that I was only replaying 1 short section at a time, mostly the end plane highjack, and the C-130 shooting mission to see how high of a score I could obtain. Never really did get into the MP portion.
