They tell you as soon as you have won the bid what hotel it is. It's immediate. Sometimes if you are close, they'll tell you to add an extra $20 or something to get it.
I do all my research on
www.biddingfortravel.com. It tells you what hotels you can expect to get and for what price. Did my research there for NYC, so I basically knew what hotel I was getting and for what price. I'd definately use it again.
