I am 32 years old and have lost about 50 lbs in 5 months eatting a balanced diet that includes (among many other things) a peanut butter, banana, chocolate milk shake for breakfast 2-3 times a week.
If you drink a liter of it at a time, yeah you gonna get fat. There is probably 2+ meals worth of calories in a liter of chocolate milk. However, anything not taken in moderation will do the exact same thing.
Edit: My grandmother has been trying to tell me that milk is not important for my entire life. That almost every study out there that says drink milk is funded by people who sell milk. She does say however that you need to have your calcium from somewhere.
