There was also the problem of committee work grinding to a halt with nothing but delays. Government basically stopped functioning at any sort of reasonable capacity. With luck, that will not be present in the next little while, especially given no party will want another election.

As far as Justin Trudeau goes, I agree with CC. His selection would instantly alienate the west (not that the Liberals ever cared about the west), but also hamper them in Quebec.

And frankly, what kind of message does that send to the rest of the country? "We think you are so stupid you will vote for a name despite that name having an utter lack of experience."
