I have met plenty of women who wear the Hijab, and when I ask why it is ok for the men to wear western cloths but they have to wear a full burke, they always say it is their choice. BS. They have been brainwashed since they were born and there is a cultural expectation for them to comply with there traditions.

I will never buy the argument that women choose to make themselves out as nothing more than property.
While agree that its oppresive over in Islamic cultures when they force women to wear full burkas, it is quite different over here. There might be some cases where the family will have expectations for the women to wear a hijab, but thats not very common. Its more often then not a choice. I have 2 Muslim friends who are sisters; one chooses to wear a hijab and one doesn't. All it is is a sign of devotion to God. Just like wearing a turban is for Sikh men.

Its perfectly ok for them to wear western clothes, and often they do.
