Eons ago ('87 I think) at a software development company I worked at we took all the keys off an old IBM tactile keyboard, and put them back on in alphabetical order. Then, we wrote a macro in good old Word Perfect for every key so that the A key would produce an A, etc.
We called in the office manager - AT THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT COMPANY - and told her we had an old original alphabetic keyboard... wasn't that cool. She played with the thing for about a half hour, thought it was quite cool, if hard to use, they went home and told her programmer husband what we found at work that day. She got in quite the fight with him over it, and I laughed a great deal.
She was less amused the next day.
