OK, a mini White Men Can't Jump write-up:
I decided to go with this because I realized it is one of the few sports movies that I have seen more than once. I also decided to go with it because I think it has everything a good sports movie should have in it: some great street-balling sequences, lots of fast, colorful banter, the obligatory theatric final game, hustling, Rosie Perez vying for and then appearing on Jeopardy, and a cast of actors all clad in sweet early-90s SoCal clothing. Woody Harrelson and Wesley Snipes are so much fun to watch, and the comedy effectively carries the story. Lots of location shooting provides for an authentic feel; the setting the characters in this movie inhabit is integral to the storyline. Basketball is definitely the star of the show, but there are many other things to enjoy in White Men Can't Jump.
It was cool to like this movie when I was in school.
