I also liked how Harper was really calm through all of this....the others got really emotional at times.

I thought before that all 5 of the leaders should be allowed on this debate, but now I don't think so. The Greens and Bloc should not be brought back. When more than 3 people were talking at the same time it sounded like times when my friends and I were talking about politics over pitchers at the Kilkenny. Very unprofessional, IMO.

I did like the round table format though. I liked how they could look directly in each others eyes when responding.

I thought that Dion was not bad overall. Harper did well despite the 4 on 1 attacks.

I still don't get how the green shift works though..........Dion says for every one dollar raised it comes back to us via income tax cuts.....

If carbon is taxed, then companies will be taxed for the carbon they emit when they produce a barrel of crude oil (sorry, I could be wrong about this. I am not in the oil business), can the oil companies pass the cost on or do they have to sell the barrel at the global price of oil?

If they can't then Dion is really eating in to their profits....could that lead to decrease in exploration and/or job loses?

And if they can pass on the cost, then thats even worst. Cause the production of EVERYTHING requires energy and if there is an increase in the cost at the top, it will trickle down and basic every day goods will become extremely expensive....not sure how that will help the families at the kitchen counter.

Can someone explain how this thing works please?
