I tend to lose respect for many charities via telemarketer call. I'll never forget the time somebody lectured me on the phone about not giving money to Firefighter burn victims. That was the worst in a long list of condescending remarks from various charities. Of course they aren't all like that, but in this case a few bad apples really screwed everybody else. I made the mistake of donating a few years back to a charity and what resulted was constant call backs from the same place looking for more money. The groups I support now are groups I seek out.
