I'm in the same "never give to charities" boat. I don't want to be on their list. If they think I'm a cheapass, good. I don't want to be bothered.

OR, an alternative. "Hi, this is the Canadian [some disease or ailment] Foundation. If you give us as little as $10, we won't call you again for a year! And if you act now and give us $50, we will remove you from our list for 10 years!"
