Thats the one thing thats always bugged me about the Liberals is the whole hidden agenda fear mongering routine, in the words of PT Barnum and Bailey, its designed for the rubes.
I still remember in the last election, the Liberals ran on a lack of substance campaign, they used the hidden agenda card, then they never disclosed any kind of platform, always pointing to the fact that they had this plan, but they never revealed it. This campaign hasn't really changed it that much. Using the terms neocon, talking about Harper in the same breath as Bush, then changing their primary platform, the green shift every day, building budget figures based on calculations created 7 months ago, and not making a stand for anything.
I wouldn't mind the Liberals, except that I've never been able to trust them, and their elusiveness in every campaign doesn't give me a comfort factor that they're trustworthy.
In fact the last time I voted for a Liberal was after Kim Campbell took over the Conservatives and refused to fight that election on the issues.
