I don't particularly like him, but he is very animated and charismatic on stage. He's not so much funny as he is "fun"... even if a little douchy.

I remember a few years ago, people used to say the same thing about Jim Carey. It's a generational thing... If you were 21 or younger when Jim Carey first started making movies, you probably would have liked him, but I bet your parents didn't. They probably saw him as a Jerry Lewis rip-off.

Too each their own I guess. To me, George Carlin was one of the most overrated comedians ever. His jokes are like "Andy Rooney-isms" but with foul language. To many others, he was the best of all time.
