It probably shouldn't have, but that made me laugh. What a scam. Is it actually true though? Kinda has the makings of an urban myth. If it is true, it isn't "the natives", it's a few people.
Seems like an awful hassle just to get a ride into town though, faking it all the way into the hospital, and then being that shameless and just walking away.
You'd think hitchiking would be easier. But I guess the ride you called would sure get there quick.
