I'm not that naive. But if they're going to cut through my neighborhood, do people also need to be dinks in the process? I've seen drivers block the intersection and crosswalks at 18th Street and Riverglen Drive, causing gridlock because there wasn't enough room on the other side of the lights and they went anyway. There are the speeders and red light runners that are going to run over a 3rd grader one of these days. This morning this lady (and I use the term loosely) honked, gave me the finger and rode my bumper simply because I merged in front of her on a legal and safe right turn. And of course this winter we will discover that the cloverleaf turn from 18th Street onto Glenmore westbound is wholly inadequate for the newly found volume.
Then again the real blame needs to be placed on the Council and ultimately the Roads Department for engineering the gong show that is Deerfoot between Bow Bottom and Glenmore, causing people to have to find alternatives.
