On Oct. 7, 2001, the 49ers beat Carolina 24-14 and the Raiders beat Dallas 28-21. In baseball action, the Giants closed their season with a 2-1 victory over the Dodgers, and the A's rested up for the playoffs by beating Anaheim 6-2 in the JV game.
