I agree with metal_geek, it's cool but transfer speed and amount of data can be a problem.

Amazon's S3 is probably the best one to look at if you really want your data to be safe; other companies I'm not sure how long they've been around or what would happen if they decided to close shop. And nice thing for Amazon is you only pay for what you use (transfer and storage wise), rather than for what you might use.

Personally I have a small server with mirrored drives as a network drive and do backups to there. I currently don't have something for offsite so if my house burns down or something then I don't have a good solution. That's one of my immediate goals.
