I was sure it was an honest mistake and decided to just explain the situation and get it taken care of. However when I brought it up to her she insisted that the hi-balls were mine and she remembered me order them at the beginning of the night. I informed her that I haven't had a drink in almost a decade, but she told me I was lying to her. Using my inside voice, I calmly said one more time that one way or another we weren't going to buy some other tables drinks, and that it would be best to remove it from the bill. I guess that was too complicated, so we just deducted the cost of the hi-balls from the tip, which coincidentally was about 100% of it.
Yes, I do realize the tips go elsewhere (kitchen etc.). For that reason I do actually feel bad not tipping, but obviously not enough to stop. Servers who act rudely and expect a reward for it infuriate me.

I had a server try that on me and a few buddies at Limericks a while back.
After several conversations with her and the manager we paid the tab.
To the Penny. No tip.....
Surprisingly enough we were denied service after that....
