It bugs me when "holier than thou" tippers are on the same bill and get mad when they have to throw in extra to bring my 15% tip up to 30%. Not saying you're this guy...
eg. A bill for 2 burgers and 2 beers comes to $35. Putting $20 each equates to just over 15% of a before tax tip. For standard run of the mill everyday service I'm more than comfortable tipping this. Friend A puts in his $20, Friend B puts in $25 being the big tipper. Friend B than looks at bill realizes tip is too low and feels the needs to put in $5 more while looking down on Friend A. Friend A feels insulted that he is essentially being called "cheap" by Friend B over a 15% tip.
