I didn't view the You Tube posts yet. You raise very good questions that everyone should answer for themselves.
My belief is that no person, religion or organization should be exempt from the freedom of speech with regards to questioning and criticizing. If we start limiting the ability to question anything in our society we no longer become a free country.
I don't understand why there is this belief that we cannot talk, question or more importantly criticize the ideas of Islam. We can do it with almost any other religion yet because the extremists have said that criticizing Islam is blasphemous and against their religion, many people in the west decide that it is racist to do such a thing.
It is becoming so extreme now that we have these Human rights commissions that were originally set up to prevent work place discrimination now being used to censor freedom of speech and on the verge of censoring freedom of thought. Now, it only needs to be proven that you have offended someone to be found guilty in these circus courts. It's as if we have a new human right that has developed that it is a fundemental right not to be offended by someone.
What really burns me is that this is not on anyones radar. No one really cares because unless they have been hauled infront of these kangaroo courts they have no idea how bad it is.
Listen to this storey: Someone I know had a problem at school when I was in high school. She was hispanic and spoke spanish and english. She had a meeting with the principal about finding a way to participate in the graduation cerimony because she had been sick for about 6 months prior to graduation and did not have enough credits to graduate. The meeting was with her, her father and the principal. The principal decided that she could not walk with the group of graduates because she did not have the required credits. During the meeting the father became angry and started to talk in spanish to his daughter and the principal. The principal tried to calm everyone down and suggested that everyone speak english so he knew what was being said. The father took offence to that comment and hauled him in front of the human rights commission.
The commission decided that the principal should never have asked him to speak english and fined him $1000.
GOOD GOD people. This is a principal that everyone at the school liked and respected, students, teachers and parents. But according to the Human RIghts Circus gurus the principal violated the fathers HUMAN RIGHTS. Where in the declaration of Human RIghts by the UN does it say that a Human Right is to speak what ever language you want and no one can ASK you to do otherwise.
