As we are inspired by this young woman's amazing escape from the religion of Islam, her words, her story, her message... We here in Canada are fighting a battle of freedom of speech as has been brought up here with regards to Canada's hate laws.
My question to you all, is firstly, does Islam deserve special protection from free thought/criticism, and more importantly what in a free society deserves protection of criticism if anything.
Its scary that in many ways Canada is such a beneficiary of great freedom and tolerance, while speech if it involves 'groups' most often religious groups is put under 'hate speech'...
We all know the battle the Western Standard and Ezra Levant had to battle over just this issue.
My question is mostly to those of us considered 'liberal' and how you feel appeasing Islam is going to be the solution to its aggressive, violent, expansion into the west.
I just feel as much as Ezra annoys the hell out of me, that his battle is something all of us should fight for.
But more importantly, do enjoy 30 mins of Ayaan who is a real treat to listen to, and even though my deep concern of the rise of Islam is very real it is someone like her that reminds me there is some hope, albeit slight to our future.
