Yep, HDMI cables are the biggest ripoff and those big box stores should be ashamed of themselves. In fact, some people I know have avoided buying HD equipment due to the fact that sales people at Best Buy or FS for example have told them they need $200 HDMI cables as well.
I bought a $18 HDMI cable and it works just fine with my Blu-ray and LCD HDTV thank you very much.
