Quebec and Possibly Ontairo are the only province with enough renewable resources, and proper geographic location to make it "successfully" on their own. All the provinces could separate but only those would have a legitimate shot at real success.

As for "Supporting" the other provinces, Alberta doesn't have to include Oil Revenue in it's calculation, so it pays very little in comparison to what it takes in vs the other provinces. This is a HUGE bone of contention for Sask and NF, and is the reason NF premier Danny Williams, (a conservative), is telling people NOT to vote for the Conservatives in the next Federal Election. Harper promised on the campaign trail to give NF the same deal as Alberta and has since RENEGED, and said NF MUST include Oil revenues in it's equalization calculation.

This would leave Alberta as the only province who's oil resources are considered provincial resources, Sask, BC, NF and NS oil reserves are considered Canadian Resources under the plan. Needless to say Alberta is HAPPY about this and Ontario is pissed that Alberta oil is considered a provincial and not federal.

So any Albertain who wants to keep the 12 billion surplus flowing, better start cheering on NF and Sask in their bids to make oil provincial reserves, and drop the big finger to NS who took the "Cash" and sold out already. Oil as a "federal" resource is the NEP all over again...
