We read stories in the paper all the time about increased funding for police in our city and across the country. "We need more money for more cops!"

But what happens once charges are laid and the courts take charge of these cases? In this instance, we're talking about 14 gang members and over 100 charges. That's a huge case load to dump on the prosecutors in our city.

No one ever says we need more money for prosecutors. Or more judges. If anything, people are quick to criticize the overpaid lawyers and judges in our justice system, taking the to task for seemingly failing the citizens of our country and allowing the scum of the earth to once again escape punishment and pollute our communities.

Investigating crimes and laying charges is only part of the battle. Sure, throwing more money at our police forces will help out this phase but the job is not done once the Herald declares a massive gang sweep.
Yeah, I agree. In the criminal justice system the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups. The police, who investigate crimes and the district attorney, who prosecutes the offenders. These are their stories... KUNG KUNG
