i believe that list was confirmed to be fake. there are about 55 songs confirmed for GH4 so far.

back to the original question, since the instruments are compatible, I'd probably pick up gH4 bundle and rock band 2 standalone game (and rent rb1 so you can copy all those songs). Red Octane's instrument quality is better. personally, i fine rb the better game as the note charts seem to flow much better. GH tries to be hard just for the sake of being hard. they randomly add notes where there is nothing played and stuff. I'd also take a look at RB's past downloadable content to see if there is lots of stuff you like, as ultimately, DLC is how your going to add to your song collection.

so in conclusion, if you have money, get gh4 for the instruments (and give the game a go) and get rb2 (and 1) for the music. If you absolutely had to pick only 1, then go Rockband.
