But it seems like that is all swept under the rug and the Uber liberal American press doesnt care.

If that were McCain's friends the press would be blowing this up and screaming to high heaven. This guy has no business being American President. He has done nothing to make him President. Even his own VP runningmate has said that he isnt ready to be president yet and that US President isnt something that you learn on the job.

when this guy gets voted in ( which seems to me by the hardcore obvious leaning from the media) that he will win. I dont think this is going to be a fair election and that Obama is our next president. In that case Im moving either back to Germany or to Canada for 4 years. This country is going to be in worse shape with him in office.

Im so excited to my Taxes to go thru the roof.
Unless you make more than 250,000 dollars a year, you will see a substantial tax cut under Obama's plan. If you make less than 55,000--your taxes will go up slightly under McCain's. Just saying.

I do also think you might take another look at the "friends" you associate Obama with. He had one business deal with the wife of Rezko, and supported a public works project Rezko was involved with. Years later Rezko was indicted on corruption charges in an unrelated matter--so I'm not sure how that really disqualifies Obama as a candidate. This article from factcheck.org pretty much debunks the whole Rezko business.

It's true that Obama served on numerous committees with Bill Ayers, many years after Ayers was involved in the Weathermen. Just for reference, when the Weathermen were active in violent plots, Obama was 8 years old. Again--it's a pretty weak "guilt by association." Ayers has a checkered past--there's no doubt. But Obama was a child when all of this happened, so I don't really see how you can pin it on him any more than you can pin an unrelated corruption charge by a former business associate.

As for Wright, he's certainly a kook, and one who has a tendency to say some things that offend genteel middle Americans a little bit. I've asked in this thread before exactly what it is that makes him a "racist"--and haven't received a good answer. Crazy, sure. Radical, definitely. But "hating white people"? That's a little silly. If every African-American who is angry about race relations in America is a racist, then that's a lot of racist black people out there. Anger isn't racism. It's a natural reaction to disenfranchisement--and I think part of racial healing in this country is to start listening to just where some of that anger comes from.

But there's one thing all of those allegations have in common: they have nothing to do with Obama's plan, or how he will change things once in office. If you oppose universal health care, or think that taxpayers earning over 250,000 should not pay any more tax than they do right now, or if you think the best foreign policy is belligerence rather than diplomacy--then by all means, vote McCain. Just make sure you know what kind of car you're buying. There are many legitimate reasons to vote McCain--but I just don't think Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers or Rezko are among them.

In any case, if you think "guilt by association" is a valid reason not to vote for someone, you might try googling "Keating Five."
