My sister in law is in Germany for 6 months and is having trouble with her laptop and getting power to it. She brought with her a power converter and it isn't good enough to run her laptop.

We bought a power converter that we were told would work and it says right in the instructions that it wont handle computers. After some searching online we have found a couple forums where people claim that you can just plug your laptop directly into the wall with a simple plug adapter and the power supply will handle the conversion.

Anyone have any experience with this? She has a Dell 1525 and it says on dell power supply that it handles 120-240 volts. So I am thinking this will work, but I would rather get some form of confirmation from someone who has experienced it.
