...and, again, Metallica wasn't just about loud guitars and speed riffs. They were about long, complex symphonies and musical arrangements. Listening to an old-school Metallica album is like listening to an opera... just very, very, every heavy.
The Black Album marked their departure from that. THAT's what pissed off all their fans.

From where I stand, my comments are pretty dead on.
It seems pretty arrogant and stuck up to me to proclaim that everything after Justice isn't Metallicas "real stuff." Like you're the final say in what passes or fails for the bands music; casting judgment on albums you say you've never even heard. Obviously you've either heard them and are just playing it up like you haven't to sound more hardcore about your "oldschool Metallica fandom" or you've chosen to remain ignorant and just leech an opinion off everybody who disliked anything after Justice.
Blanketing everybody who likes Black as some hack bandwagon fan because only "people who would have never been caught dead listening to Metallica before it was released" would like the self titled album.
Saying the Black album pissed off ALL their fans.
Seriously man, you don't speak for all fans, you don't speak for the band, you're just some dude who likes a few Metallica album. Realize that and drop the chip you've been carrying around on your shoulder for the last 15 years because some feeling of betrayal by a band who owes you nothing.
