Yeah, that's what I thought initially. More resources = usually related to higher social status and more wives. Higher social status = better care the wives are going to take care of the husband to maintain that status.

Makes sense too that the longer life gene is selected for considering the longer you live the more times you get to pass it on.

Funnily enough It doesn't mention a correlation of no. of wives with age in general and within the same culture.

The interesting part for me was that remarried men in monogonous cultures that have more children in the second marriage and end up with on average more children than one marriage men don't end up with any more grandchildren.
