But played a way harder schedule....and this is coming from a guy that hates ND and the hype they get.

North Carolina was selected 2nd in the ACC Coastal pre-season poll. SI has them in the same spot. They'll very likely finish with an 8-4 record - a better record than Notre Dame will put up.

Pre season polls mean bupkus...we all know that. However...finishing 2nd in the Coast in the ACC is nothing shhort of being average in relation to the rest of the country though. They just arent a very good football conference past a very inconsistent Clemson and Virginia Tech.
Like I said...Davis will get them better to a degree....but it will take time IMO. They were brutal last year.
