This reminds me of a time when I worked for a notoriously cheap family-run company. We received a beautiful gift basket from a client, full of wine, chocolates, crackers...all kinds of nice stuff.
The multi-millionaire family that ran the place sent out an e-mail saying there would be a draw for the basket on Friday at 5 p.m. So we all gather in the lunch room for the draw, and the basket, which had been on display all week, had been picked clean of all the good stuff by the multi-millionaire owners of the company. (They company was run by a dysfunctional family of five).
So we had a draw for the near-empty basket and the few things that remained in it...some crackers and stale cookies. No wine, chocolate, or anything else worthwhile.
