My understanding is that you need 2 - RG6 coax cables to get HD. I think they usually pull 4 cables now...2 per sattelite. I am pretty sure this is because of the dual tuner in the HD PVR's.
To the OP - There is something wrong with your setup, man. HD is massively better than SD if done right. How about giving some details about which receiver and TV you have?
